Friedrich Dick "Italien Messer" Professional Cleaver
Product Description
This absolutely brutal chopper strongly resembles the hybrid child of a chef's knife and a butcher's cleaver. The results are fantastic! The beefy 11" blade is a whopping 4" wide at the base and a massive 7/32" thick! A moderate distal taper and convex edge on the satin-polished stainless blade complete the package. Designed for heavy chopping, the "Italien Messer" may be called Italian, but the style was popular in both France and Switzerland as well, and for good reason! Would function well as a hatchet replacement in the woods or a "chicken chopper" for the homesteader. A real beast at a fantastic price!
If selecting the Special Grade option we will thin the bone-chopping edge geometry to make it more suitable for woodwork. While we will bring the edge to a polished finish, there will still be some visible scratches from the coarser belts visible.
