A chopper native to Legnago, Italy, this manaresso does wonders with generating small kindling, as well as a variety of other utility tasks. The shallow forward curve of the edge helps create a two-point contact with the top of a piece of firewood for excellent stability when starting the split, and the wide blade helps give striking surface with deep splits while providing extra torque in pieces with wavy grain.
When used for chopping tasks the forward curve also helps trap branches and stalks to keep them from slipping off the compact blade, and helps hug the contour of logs and poles when debarking them. Sturdy forged construction allows the hidden tapered tang to be thicker than the blade for excellent strength, while the traditional stacked leather handle absorbs shock and keeps hands dry, with a large top washer to provide comfort and safety when gripping the very top of the handle. An impressive and versatile tool!
If selecting the Special Grade option we will thin and refine the factory edge.
