Designed by Baryonyx Knife Co. in collaboration with WOOX, the Forte is an inspired mashup of traditional Italian and American design elements, giving the best qualities of each in a single package. With a 3-1/4 lb nominal head weight and 22" handle, this axe packs a lot of power in a compact length for ease of field carry. The slip fit eye allows for wedge-free handle swapping in the event of breakage or for using different handles of varying lengths according to the context of use.
The prominent high centerline is not the result of "phantom bevels" that are pressed into the steel, but rather by the use of true, convergent bevels, meaning you never have to worry about sharpening back into a region that is thinner than the initial bit geometry. With a hardened hammer poll, strong eye walls, and a bit hardness of 57 RC, this is an axe made for hard use! Head forged by Prandi in Italy, handle made in USA.
